SUM Rector Ivan Lobanov Elected to the Coordination Committee of Russia’s UNESCO Chairs

THE 4TH ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF UNESCO CHAIRS, ORGANISED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION FOR UNESCO, REVIEWED ITS PROGRESS AND ELECTED THE NEW COORDINATION COMMITTEE OF RUSSIA’S UNESCO CHAIRS.
SUM’S UNESCO CHAIR «SOCIETAL, LEGAL AND ETHICAL FRAMEWORKING OF KNOWLEDGE SOCIETIES» PRESENTED ITS PLAN FOR 2019 TO THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY AT THE KEY UNESCO CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION MOBILE LEARNING WEEK 2019 IN PARIS AND THE 4TH ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF UNESCO CHAIRS IN KAZAN. BOTH EVENTS WERE OPENED BY AUDREY AZOULAY, DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNESCO.
THE 4TH ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF UNESCO CHAIRS REVIEWED THE RESULTS OF FOUR YEARS OF WORK, ANALYSED THE COOPERATION BETWEEN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CHAIRS, ELABORATED RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVING RUSSIA’S UNESCO CHAIRS NETWORK AND ELECTED NEW COORDINATION COMMITTEE OF RUSSIA’S UNESCO CHAIRS. IVAN LOBANOV, SUM RECTOR AND HEAD OF UNESCO CHAIR «SOCIETAL, LEGAL AND ETHICAL FRAMEWORKING OF KNOWLEDGE SOCIETIES», WAS ELECTED TO THE NEW COORDINATION COMMITTEE.
THE PLENARY MEETING OF THE CONGRESS BROUGHT TOGETHER GRIGORY ORDZHONIKIDZE, SECRETARY-GENERAL OF THE COMMISSION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION FOR UNESCO AND AMBASSADOR AT LARGE, MINTIMER SHAIMIEV, FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN AND UNESCO SPECIAL ENVOY FOR INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE, VLADIMIR EGOROV, CHAIR OF COORDINATION COMMITTEE OF UNESCO CHAIRS AND YURI ZINCHENKO, PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF EDUCATION.
SUM PRESENTED ITS UNESCO CHAIR «SOCIETAL, LEGAL AND ETHICAL FRAMEWORKING OF KNOWLEDGE SOCIETIES» TO RUSSIA’S PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY FOR THE FIRST TIME. ALEXANDRA ADASKINA, LEADING EXPERT OF THE CHAIR, TALKED ABOUT THE PROJECTS COMPLETED TOGETHER WITH THE COMMISSION OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION FOR UNESCO AND THE TASS NEWS AGENCY AND INTRODUCED THE AUDIENCE TO THE CHAIR’S INITIATIVES, SUCH AS THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL VOLUNTEERING AND THE MULTI-COMPONENT PREDICTIVE INDEX «DIGITAL SEGREGATION OF EDUCATION ACCESSIBILITY».
SVETLANA MALKAROVA, SUM VICE-RECTOR AND UNESCO CHAIR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PRESENTED SUM’S COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO USING AI IN EDUCATION AT THE MOBILE LEARNING WEEK 2019, UNESCO’S KEY EVENT ON INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION HELD AT UNESCO HEADQUARTERS IN PARIS.
XENIA EKIMOVA, SUM VICE-RECTOR FOR RESEARCH, ANNOUNCED THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC FORUM «STEPPING INTO THE FUTURE: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL ECONOMY», WHICH THIS YEAR WILL BE HELD 9–10 DECEMBER, WITH A FOCUS ON «SMART NATIONS: ECONOMY OF DIGITAL EQUALITY». THE MAIN TOPIC OF THE UPCOMING FORUM ATTRACTED MANY OF THE CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING ROBERT LUE, PROFESSOR AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY, AND ALEJANDRO JARA WEITZMANN, FOUNDER AND CEO OF SMART REPUBLIC, A MULTIPARTNER PLATFORM FOR JOINT DEVELOPMENT OF SMART CITIES AND VILLAGES, WHO WILL TAKE PART IN THE EVENT.
